Description:
DinersGroup has developed a proprietary, software-enabled service for restaurants, hotels and casinos that can be readily and remotely integrated into an establishment’s existing point of sale (POS) system.
(1) DinersGroup’s core product, iCard®, is designed to help merchants tailor the amount of desired traffic based on their day-to-day business needs. This is made possible through the power of customized tools allowing operators to electronically assign, alter and control payment card values in real-time.
(2) The company’s secondary application is a powerful survey tool, which is the only existing software that links data collected from a restaurant’s POS terminal to an online survey featuring questions prepopulated with a respondent’s previously-selected menu items.
The iCard® and survey platforms are separate POS applications yet have the ability to work in tandem and fuel each other’s growth. Thousands of daily guest checks, distributed through a network of participating restaurant, will feature messaging and/or incentives prompting the purchase or reload of an iCard®. The level of exposure from this technique alone has the potential to put the iCard® in the hands of millions of U.S. consumers by the end of 2014.
The iCard® program allows merchants to post their incentives on impulse, just a few hours prior to the starting point of a promotion. Every card that’s redeemed allows DinersGroup and its merchants to actively track consumer spending and buying behavior from one visit to the next without lifting a finger. This is critical data that no other group-buying company has managed to execute, primarily due to the absence of a POS-based connection.
