I am a professional singer song writer, with over 30 years in the business. I also am a qualified singing teacher with a degree in music and a diploma in music as therapy. As a singing teacher, I have taught people from different walks of live; from people with special needs, with learning difficulties, behaviour issues and various age differences, from 5 to 75 years old. In my community and other communities, there is and servrere increase of people with mental health issues, Alzhimers, children and teenagers with learning and communication issues. These people usually end up taking some form of medication, of which could carry some side affects.
It has been scientifically proven that music as a large impact on the brain, which can alter the way people behave and feel.
My idea is to use an more holistic approach Music Therapy to help people who are vunerable or have special needs to help bring quality of life via the medium of using voice and music.
