Description:
This invention, named and herein referred to as “Warm-up Toss,” is a one-piece tubular arm sleeve, made of terrycloth fabric and containing padding and elastic-banding, that provides an improved, convenient way for athletes, particularly baseball pitchers, to cover and protect their arms and absorb perspiration during pre- and post-performance (not to be used during performance).
Warm-up Toss offers a faster, more-efficient replacement of the time-consuming and inconvenient ritual of pitchers meticulously wrapping their throwing arms from armpit to wrist in multiple towels while resting between innings in the dugout or upon completion of their performance. This painstaking practice of multiple towel-wrapping is now widely commonplace in baseball.
Warm-up Toss is intended to provide flexible, easy-to-slip-on-and-off comfort and light support to the pitcher’s throwing arm while warming up before entering a game, between innings in the dugout, and immediately upon completion of their performance—or any instance in which a pitcher chooses to cover and shield his arm from the elements (both hot & cold) and absorb perspiration.
Since Warm-up Toss is designed with terrycloth fabric to absorb perspiration, it is intended to be disposable and stocked by sports teams in sufficient quantities in order to be available and used as needed.
While initially intended to serve the needs of baseball pitchers and positional players, Warm-up Toss will also be targeted for use among athletes of any sport in which the user wishes to cover his/her arm while resting, such as basketball, football, tennis, racquetball and bowling.
