Objective
People have always told stories, stories about far away places and supernatural worlds infused with power and potential. Not until now, however, have people been able to create and collectively experience these fantastic visions. We will tap this potential by offering a massively multiplayer online gaming network that will allow players to build their fantasy visions and share them with the world, and make money doing it.
The Problem
The video game industry is stagnating. For some time now there has been hardly any innovation at all, and it is harming the industry. Cost is the main reason. It takes millions of dollars to make a quality game now and few can raise that kind of capital. Because of these financial demands, larger game companies are swallowing up smaller ones. As in most industries, it’s the smaller companies that tend to have the innovative ideas and creative approaches. So this clustering is further stifling our industry. Much of the game industry is attempting to replace solid design and good ideas with technology only and this does not produce enjoyable or ground-breaking games.
The Solution
Layonara Studios has a solution to this problem. Our solution will revolutionize the game industry and push it towards the truly massively interactive and creative entertainment phenomenon it should be. The solution is a new subscription method which will allow ordinary people or even emerging game companies to make an online world of their own. As with many things, the solution is simple: give people the ability to create.
