The service is membership fee-based, designed to add a level of confidentiality to the member. The service is also localized to the member’s location, allowing them to network primarily with people in their area. In addition, the service provides a membership level for service providers that want to offer services to homeschoolers. HSsegue has made the service available in Beta to Ventura County and is starting to develop a membership base. Once established in this area, HSsegue will expand nationally.
Our concept stems from our founders' realization of five marketplace trends:
• The Homeschooling segment is currently growing faster than the broad market, 5-10% per year.
• Homeschoolers are becoming more technologically savvy and want more sophisticated means of networking.
• Home Educators have specific cultural demographics that provide the foundation of niche marketing.
• Internet-based information for homeschoolers is fragmented and not localized.
• Many companies are trying to understand and reach the homeschooling population.
