Description: THE FILIPINO-AMERICAN WESTERN FILM "Strange Boats on Strange Waters" - Feature Film - Psychological Thriller We are looking for investment; executive producers and donors for great story that hasn't been told in the mainstream before. Hollywood wants to see more culturally inclusive storytelling, and we aim to do that in the most exciting and unique way possible. Strange Boats on Strange Waters is a feature film created by young Filipino filmmakers who wrote a movie about the immigration experience through the lens of a western and thriller film! Log Line - A young Filipino man seeks vengeance against an American bounty hunter through the dreams and memories of his ancestors from the Philippine-American War. Plot Summary - A young Filipino artist living in Los Angeles starts experiencing hallucinatory visions and past experiences of the pain and trauma of his Filipino ancestors. This leads him to start following and watching an all-American cowboy bounty hunter who is mindlessly and vacuously hunting and killing Filipino immigrants. The movie cuts back and forth with war and flashback scenes of the Philippine-American War. Our goal is exploring the trauma, memory, myth, and transformation of intergenerational trauma of the descendants of immigrants from the Philippine-American War. The suppression and loss of memory, and how it blends with history and myth. Myth of the American West, myth of the Western film, myth of the supernatural. Transformation of old to new. A full feature film with no dialogue, visually inspired by Too Old to Die Young, Twin Peaks: The Return, and The Harder They Fall. Filipinos have been underrepresented in Hollywood for too long, and we believe it's time to change that.
