Description: Question: What is the common technology trend in movies, television, mobile, gaming, and consumer electronics? 3D. Did you know that the new generation of 3D screens and devices are glasses free? Take a look at AU Optronics - maker of touchscreens for iPad and iPhone. Today’s (10-09-2010) press release is very exciting. New devices are coming from Nintendo, Hitachi, Samsung... all the major electronics makers. Sony, Disney, ESPN, and many others have announced small screen 3D as core to their future strategy. Jeffrey Katzenberg has described this as the opportunity of a lifetime. Piper-Jaffray predict the worldwide 3D market to be $25 Billion by 2012. Many articles about this emerging technology ask the same question: where will the content come from? We at SPECIAL / AWESOME know that there will be an enormous market for 3D content of all sorts, for screens of all sizes. This content vacuum will run the gamut from the most mundane i.e. screen savers and stock footage, to games and mini-shows, to 3D BluRay discs of films such as Avatar et all. Our founder has worked in 3D for the past 3 years as a Visual Effects Artist/Supervisor (Coraline, Green Hornet, O Apostolo) and has the knowledge and network to produce content for these screens using contemporary approaches with independents and outsourcing . Our lead designer has designed many A-list 3D films (Polar Express, Christmas Carol, Despicable Me). Together, we are creating properties of all sorts with a short term focus on the modest small screen 'bread and butter' types with second phase emphasis on the long form opportunities for independents which will emerge as the space matures. We look to history to evaluate this opportunity. Over the years, new technologies have always created enormous opportunities for content creators who filled the void. We are focused on the sweet spot where quality 3D assets of all types will required to populate the screens of millions of users. For news about the evolution of 3D devices please check our blog: (URL removed) And to get an overview of stereoscopic 3D our website: (URL removed) Our business plan is brief, direct, and modular. We have numerous 1-5 page documents available which each cover an aspect of our strategy, properties, or 3D, in a manner that avoids jargon or verbosity. All these are available to accredited investors. Please be located, or regularly available in person, in Northern California in order to facilitate the operations of this small collaborative and fast moving startup.
