Description:
Idea for a new venture would require funding to build the first private therapeutic community as an alternative to foster care. Children would be encouraged to maximise their abilities within a home environment among professionals who can provide a therapeutic service. Current services are too affected by staffing, lack of money and understanding and too many children are housed with carers who cannot help them develop into happy, stable adults. These communities would be based in large houses that can be made into homes away from the temptations of inner cities. I form part of a small group of individuals who work in Social Care and have dreams of providing a more valuable service to younng individuals.
