Description:
We are proud to introduce “Cassandra’s Fire,” a riveting, multimedia rock opera suited to the demands of 21st century audiences. A nascent work, “Cassandra’s Fire” is the intense tale of one man’s journey through a life of sin to find love and redemption. Far from being a formulaic story, the opera encompasses intense rock themes in a contemporary setting, combining focused energy with excited abandon.
The primary character, Christopher, first deals with the separation from his father and travels through life on a path to destruction. He encounters sin in all its forms through music and dance. The urban setting allows for a crossover from biblical themes to modern daily struggles. As the opera progresses, each of Christopher’s rushes with sin lead him deeper into a world of danger and turmoil. When at last he finds love, through the appearance of the temptress Cassandra, we are certain that Christopher will never return to a life of peace but will choose a fate in hell instead. As he reaches a crisis of emotion, faith, and intellect, Christopher at last emerges from his troubled world to find that he can, indeed, reach a place of content in today’s frenetic
world by turning to faith, love, and his own strength to guide him.
Make no mistake, “Cassandra’s Fire” is no evangelical tale of forgiveness and rapture. Rather, we see through Christopher’s eyes the presence of depravity and selfishness, with an opportunity for renewal – take it or leave it. All audience members will feel a strong connection to the material presented, as each will have encountered similar trials and chosen his or her path accordingly. A potential feast for the eyes with video interaction, remarkable stage effects, and gripping music, “Cassandra’s Fire” has the capacity to reach audiences who enjoy theatre as a total experience. As impressive as a falling chandelier or a landing helicopter, the video effects proposed in “Cassandra’s Fire” leave little room for passive participation in the piece. Through this venture, we hope to reach a broad scope of viewers and engage them in the theatrical, musical, operatic event that is “Cassandra’s Fire.”
