Description:
At present IDHR Corporation is in the design stage of building an all green apartment complex aimed towards college students. It will be located across the street from one of the five colleges/universities in the area.
Buildings todays are built to the minimal standard and as fast as possible and they start having problems and issues within the first year or two. At IDHR we will build with the highest quality green products on the market. Our first project will be a 400-450 apartment complex built out of ICF’s (insulated concrete forms) and have solar panels on the roofs and on top of the cover parking areas. The walls both inside and out will be a stucco with color mix in. This will reduce the cost for yearly painting. The floors will be a stained and stamped concrete which will eliminated the replacing of flooring, which will reduce the maintenance cost. The apartments will be built in a way that they will receive the highest rating, which is a Platinum Certification, in green building. The apartments will be two building of indoor apartments with a cover atrium between them for year around enjoyment.
For many years people have use electricity without thinking, because prices were so low. The products that will be used in the building of this project and future projects will bring the energy usage down to only a fraction of the cost of a similar size building built out of standard materials. There will be less maintenance and up keep needed as well as fewer issues with the building.
Solar products and ICF’s are being used in Austin and the Dallas/ Ft. Worth areas. Last year the city of Waco voted on projects to redo the downtown areas and to rebuild with green technology and products.
IDHR is currently working on obtaining the rights to be a distributor of the ICF’s and the solar panels in the Waco area. This will be a great opportunity for IDHR in providing this product to the city of Waco and the surrounding communities. Our projects be a great way to show case the products and there superiority over standard building methods.
