Description:
The Crawford County Helping Hands is a non-profit organization that assists with providing opportunities for homeless individuals and families and with safe shelter and compassionate services through information, funding and networking to achieve self-sufficiency and self-worth in the effort to end a repeating process.
We make a healthier community by taking care of individuals who are at risk or are homeless by addressing the complex needs of these individuals by working with government agencies and other organizations. First, we assist with providing emergency shelter. Second, we minister to the “whole” person by collaborating with our community to assist with providing counseling, spiritual support, mental and physical health care, nutrition, safety, employment, education, travel assistance and other available benefits to plan for future independence. Third, we enlighten the community and are proactive in reducing the stigma of homelessness. We offer them a hand up not a hand out.
