Description: So what is Dailey Swan Publishing, Inc and what will we be doing? Welcome to the world of Dailey Swan Publishing. We will be bringing you the best of new authors in the genres we all love. Join us as we search out new lands, ideas, mysteries, and journeys through the universe around us. And we hope, always with a little twist, to keep our lives from becoming mundane. Launched in 2006 at the BayCon science fiction convention in San Jose, Dailey Swan Publishing now has over 50 authors under contract for 54 titles; over 35 titles are available now, with 5 scheduled for 2012, and 7 so far scheduled for 2013. We are currently scheduling the 2014 calendar year. The company distributes trade paperback books primarily through MidPoint Trade Books, Ingram Books, Baker and Taylor, and other regional distributors. In Europe, Africa, and Asia our books are distributed through Gazelle Dailey Swan is an active member of (URL removed), the independent bookstore organization. Unique is our use of the latest technology. We are trying to look beyond the dinosaur age of the publishing industry to embrace new changes in technology that will allow us to continue to grow and prosper. We begin with the digital world. No longer do we use rotary presses but digital presses, printing not of plates but digital PDF templates of the books. Not to be confused with the vast and growing world of self-publication, where there are thousands of digital copiers printing books on demand for authors (systems such as the Docutech), these are multi-million dollar printers using inkjets. For this we are lucky to have a close relationship with our printing partner, Total Print Systems, located in Southern Illinois. E-Books We have all of our titles formatted for this. We are currently as well involved with over 45 ebook sellers, including Nook, Kindle, iBook, nook, and Kobo. Dailey Swan Book Cafe We feel with the failure of the Borders chain, that there is an opportunity in the bookstore market. There are many area’s around the country no longer served by bookstores. Even with the proliferation of ebooks, there are many of these communities where a bookstore could be a huge community resource, beginning in my local community of 250,000 in the Richmond California area. These are at-risk area’s where kids need a hand to achieve. By combining the concepts of a coffee shop with a bookstores, and adding an area where local schools and groups can hold events, and the latest technologies, ebook availability through the google/indiebound program, and making the stores hotspots, we feel we can create an entity that will be richly profitable for the communities and us.
