Many equines are now suffering from Equine Metabolic Syndrome that causes laminitis. There is a treatment but unfortunately the expense of the treatment is prohibited to many owners since the treatment very much like treatment for diabetics- is continual. The Last Chance Horse Hospice would be open to any owner of a horse suffering from from the life threatening effects of Laminitis that can show that they are in need of financial help in order to pay for treatment for their horse. The purpose of this funding would go entirely for the payment of medicine, blood testing, and Farrier services that these horses need. It would cover the treatment using Dr Thomas' herbal remedies from "For The Love Of The Horse" that have been proven to help these horses when all else has failed, it would also supply hoof boots that would help these horses recover and make their life more comfortable while they are healing.
