Description: PhotographsAmerica.com provides the highest-quality fine-art photographic prints, posters and wall art, carefully selected from the Library of Congress. Currently our collection has over 6,000 images to choose from, and it is expected to grow to more than 100,000 in the next three years, with each image available in numerous sizes and media. A majority of the images were created by Carol M. Highsmith, who has been called “America’s Photographer.” In her 35 years of photographing American life and places, meeting new people in every state, one question keeps recurring. Where could people buy these wonderful photographs of their hometown, their state, and their country? PhotographsAmerica.com was created to provide the people of America an online destination to purchase excellent photographs of our nation, both past and present. The site sells print-on-demand photographic prints, in a range of sizes, of not just Highsmith's work but also a wide variety of vintage photographs thoughtfully chosen from the Library of Congress Collection. We will continually update and refresh imagery on PhotographsAmerica.com. Recently, Carol M. Highsmith began a 16-year assignment for the Library of Congress to capture snapshots of life in America in each of its 50 states. She began in 2010 with Alabama, California and Connecticut and beginning in February 2014 she began a four month expedition in Texas, with more states to follow. This ongoing, epic journey will produce a growing time capsule of our times for both contemporary Americans and future generations. A portion of the proceeds from each sale on our site goes to the This is America! Foundation, helping to fund Highsmith's journeys across America. PhotographsAmerica.com will become the main repository for Carol M. Highsmith's ever-expanding portfolio as she continuously documents 21st Century America and the endangered places we call “Disappearing America.” We have developed a line of prints, posters and art products that we will deliver as highest-quality fine-art photographic prints, posters, and wall art. Our offerings are currently comprised of three collections that include more than 3,000 select photos by Highsmith, nearly 1,700 images chosen from the Library of Congress collections (including 350 vintage colorized photographs called “photochroms”), and more than 1,000 early postcards. This collection is expected to exceed 100,000 images for sale over the next three years, with each image available in numerous sizes and media.
