SMT designed, patented and is now marketing products that reduce potential Needle Stick Accidents, provide significant financial savings to health care practitioners by eliminating or reducing the need for bio-medical waste contract services for Sharps, reduces up to 80% of the landfill space required for disposal and eliminates the risks and liability associated with post use theft of Needles, syringes and vials.
1. Our market is Mandated by Federal Law (Needle Stick Safety and Prevention Act of 2000) that employers must provide the equipment and devices necessary to help reduce Needle Stick Accidents.
2. There is no other product on the market that provides a “point of use” device to shred needles and vials safely thus eliminating post disposal Needle Sticks (for example, from overfilled Sharps Containers) and greatly reduce or eliminate the financial risks due to theft of Sharps Containers.
3. Our customers are currently forced (by law) to use one of the only other available methods for disposal, which are contracted special waste disposal companies like Stericycle ($1.7 BN last year in revenue – SRCL – NASDAQ) at a cost of up to several hundred dollars each month.
4. Our product has a ROI, based upon state, of between 4-8 months.
5. Our product reduces landfill space requirements by up to 80% (Green product and supports Hospitals drive for Green certification).
