Our startup, Touzai Company, is located in Villa Park, CA. We host an annual convention, TouhouCon, featuring independent illustrators, musicians, and game programmers from America and Japan. We are entering our second year, and we hope to make it a big one!
Unlike other events of a similar type (anime conventions), instead of focusing on the mainstream and already-established titles and companies that they all go for, we are focusing on the fan and indie side of the equation, by spotlighting and bringing attention to the up-and-coming creators in multiple fields, such as art, music, animation, and gaming. We achieve this by inviting popular creators from Japan, as well as featuring well-known American creators as well. Through this we will bridge the gap between the Asian and American indie cultures, as well as create a bridge where American talent can get discovered by major production companies, turning their true passion into a true career.
TouhouCon not only features panels presented by our guests and fans, but live performances from our musical guests as well. Our event also features several interactive activities for our attendees to enjoy throughout the weekend. We are coordinating with the Childrens Hospital of Orange County and hosting a charity fundraising auction at TouhouCon this year.
Touzai Company is built on the concept of bridging cultures between the East-Asian region and the Americas. We believe in the recognition and appreciation of our volunteer staff, as well as creating a unique and wonderful experience for our attendees as well. Touzai Company and TouhouCon is the product of over 100 volunteer staffers' combined passion and dedication.
We're looking for all available options to raise $100k in small business funding in order to help grow our event and cover our up-front costs (venue, equipment rental, etc.). At this point, Touzai Company currently has average monthly sales in the region of $4,000 to $8,000. We expect a significant number of sales on-site, which will generate income on the days of the event.
Touzai Company is primarily interested in receiving capital from Equity Funding (Venture Capital, Angel, Private Equity, etc) or Alternative/Loan Funding. We would like to use the funds that are raised for Operating/Growth Capital (Payroll, Sales & Marketing, etc).
