Description: D.I.Y. Theater is a web-based company in which we are reaching out to fans of independent film. With the official definition of "Independent Film" now at any film produced for under 5 million dollars, the people around the world producing high quality yet truly independent films for 100 thousand dollars or less are being overlooked solely because of their budgets. With over 5000 films submitted to Sundance every year, yet only 200 of them screened at the competition, there are plenty of independent films being produced that are not re-cooping their costs even though they have a very well-produced and good film. D.I.Y Theater is a distribution option for independent film producers in which they do not have to sell away all of the rights to their film, but merely contract it to us to put on the website. We will have members that can stream lo-res versions of all of the movies they want to for free and then when they find one that they really like, they can download a high-quality digital version of the film for $4 that they can keep on their computer or put on their ipod or iphone. If they really like it they can order a DVD either through us or through the producers of the film, however the producers want to go about that. With fewer and fewer movie theaters actually showing independent films these days, the goal is to organize the website to feel like you are going to the theater even though it is at your home on the computer. When someone finds a movie that they want to purchase they will click on "Proceed to Box Office". When they get to the box office, they will then "Purchase Tickets" to their movie. As a long-term goal for the business, we would like to develop a download managing software similar to iTunes called D.I.Y. Auditorium so that the D.I.Y. Audience members can watch their movies in the "Auditorium".
