I am the inventor of a frozen pastry board, US Patent #6,000,237 issued in Dec. '99. The purpose of the board is to maintain a chilled state of the dough through the rolling process, eliminating the need of additional flour on the boards and keeping the shortening cold to be rolled into lamilar thin layers, yielding a superior baked product every time the board is used. The board is made of two pieces that snap together, with four coolant packets inside maintaining a chilled surface for more than two hours. The board was previously licensed for production, but changes made from the original design and poor marketing by the licensee and subsequent poor sales on their part ended that agreement.
