INTRODUCTION:
Petrosonics LLC (The Company) is a grass-roots Research and Development and IP licensing company newly formed in 2011 as a
Nevada LLC which holds over 10 patents and over 35 patents pending worldwide (42 countries) on the use of Ultrasound Energy to
reduce sulfur and nitrogen from Crude Oil and fractions (see patent matrix). This REVOLUTIONARY process economically extracts
globally recognized pollutants such as Sulfur and Nitrogen during the refining process. Further the technology upgrades heavy
fractions and crude oil. This technology known as “Ultrasound Assisted Oxidative Desulfurization” (UAOD) has several benefits such
as reducing operating, energy and capital costs to refineries and reduce Sulfur and Nitrogen content in crude oils.
The Company’s mission is to meet legally mandated sulfur limitations for refineries and oil producers, which will efficiently remove
Sulfphur and Nitrogen from Crude Oil fractions and Sour Crude. The result of this technology will no doubt result in global market
disruption in the oil industry and contribute to solving environmental compliance, crude oil supply, and refinery problems.
THE PROBLEM:
Current refineries worldwide struggle to refine oil to low or ultra-low sulfur content fuels and either use advanced hydro-treaters with
astronomic upfront capital costs, and high operating costs in energy use, and expensive hydrogen consumption. 80% of the
world’s refineries do not possess advanced hydro-treaters formerly needed to ULSD requirements. Thus they shut down, sell, buy
more expensive light sweet crude oil, revamp their HDS to ULSD or re-route their end product to refineries with advanced hydrotreaters
to meet regulations.
