PAH VRS is seeking to become the service provider of choice for Video Relay Services to the Deaf Community and hard of hearing adults. For years, this community has had limited access to the hearing community (for an understanding of this please see “Videophones Revolutionize Communications for the Hearing Impaired” in the Appendices). Advancements in video conferencing technology have provided a new solution that improves most communication situations compared to text based devices. Deaf and hard-of-hearing persons may initiate contact with a hearing person through a Video Relay Service Center. These centers are staffed by certified deaf interpreters who complete calls between a deaf or hard-of-hearing person and a hearing person.
