Firefly Jewels began as a one-person arts provider accepting stained glass commissions, which I pursued for several years. Eventually I segued into hot glass (beadmaking) which continues to be relatively profitable on a local level, and finished jewelry making. In the last 2 years I have been studying and training in bespoke shoemaking, which also includes moccasins and sandals. This may eventually be the main concern in my business but I expect to continue training for some time yet. My current study includes traveling to Budapest, Hungary, for a two-week apprenticeship with Master Shoemaker Marcell Mrsan, in April 2011. Meanwhile I look forward to my customary summer sales of glass beads, jewelry, and (I hope) custom sandals).
