Description: I have a dream... To open up a Coffee House In my town of Penhold, Alberta under the name "Mac Bean's Coffee House". My vision for this Coffee House is to give the community a place to meet, relax and enjoy the start, middle or end of their day. With almost 3000 residents in the town of Penhold and a expected increase of over 15% in the next 2 years, a friendly, family friendly hang out spot is much needed in our town. Offering residents a space for book clubs, play dates, meetings, yoga/Thai Chi, live music and more. We will definitely be filling a much need gap and guarantee a successful journey. We will serve only the best organic or Fair trade coffee and tea and use the freshest local ingredients to make our food. There is nothing else like this in the community and the closest real commercial competitor is Tim Horton's on Gasoline Alley (10 km's away). I have already spoken to many members of the community, sharing my ideas and plans for the shop. Thus far not a single person apposed to the Coffee House, with overwhelming great feedback and support from the community. I have submitted an offer on the property, I am just waiting to hear if the conditions are accepted to take the next step. We have found a great number of quality local suppliers of baked goods, year round green houses, meat suppliers, organic and free trade coffee/tea/espresso suppliers, and ART! Our costs are low and make it easy to make a 60-70% mark up on our food and drinks. We are hoping to be open and operating by June but I need money and there are lots of renovations to be done to the House to make it into a coffee house. I am a young woman with a family, experience in the industry and eager to fulfill my dreams of being a Cafe owner. My husband is willing to provide me with part of the money to start this but I am left with around $150,000 to come up with to cover renovations, equipment and first month start up costs.
