Description: I am in the process of purchasing 86 acres with my husband in North Mississippi. We intend to use approximately 20 acres for agricultural and agritourism purposes. We plan to raise goats and chickens, as well as focus heavily on microgreens, fresh produce, pumpkin patches, Christmas trees and flowers. The remaining acreage will be used for cabins, campsites, and a recreational area where families can fish, paddle boat, and enjoy the outdoors. We have accounted for enough space to place public restrooms, pavilions, and also a large structure to host weddings and events. The land does contain a large body of water surrounded by woods, creating the perfect space to retreat from the city. The land is located approximately 60 miles from Memphis, Tennessee and only 35 miles from the incredibly fast-growing Olive Branch, Mississippi, which allows for easy access to a very heavily populated area. We have secured funding to allow us to live on the land, taking two to three acres for a private homesite. This is ideal as I plan to be hands on while cultivating the land and handling the operations of the business. We will be a reliable source for fresh produce without the fear of harsh chemicals, as well as healthy poultry and eggs. We will be a safe haven for families to unplug from their bustling lives and reconnect to nature. Between carving pumpkins at a fall festival, learning how to pitch a tent, catching their very first fish and roasting marshmallows over a campfire, children will have memories that last a lifetime like I have myself. If a couple decided they wanted to become one, I want to be able to provide a beautiful place for them to do so without throwing them into debt. I want my own children to see what it takes to put in blood, sweat and tears and then experience the everlasting feeling of satisfaction when others enjoy what you have created. I have almost 20 years’ experience living on a farm as I grew up on one. Gardening and raising animals, primarily goats and chickens, is something that I am accustomed to. I also have approximately 10 years of accounting and managing experience. I am 100% confident that I can create something both beautiful and successful that can be enjoyed by thousands for years to come. We have placed our dream home, which we absolutely love, on the market and will be investing roughly $100,000 of our own money into this venture. We are invested, determined, and more than ready to get this dream off the ground.
