Hemptress is a line of eco friendly, yet fashion forward handbags. Mostly made of hemp, many are trimmed with "reborn" recycled leather and have a hemp/silk lining. We also have some vegan collections that are lined with hemp/RPET (recycled plastic bottles). Our metal zippers are of the highest quality (because a bag is only as sustainable as its zipper), and our nylon zippers are made from recycled nylon).
We launched in January of 2010, and are already in over 60 stores nationwide and in Canada. We have been featured in People Stylewatch, California Apparel News, WWD, Accessories Magazine, and have upcoming features in November (URL removed)'s "Most wanted", InStyle Magazine, True Romance Magazine and The Boulevard LI.
I am the designer and have 10 years experience designing handbags. My business partner and husband, Hakan, come from an advertising background and is also a web designer.
