I am an esthetician that has developed The Mella Wax Warmer. As a user I know what is wrong with them. Spend $20.00 or $200.00 and you will not find a single Wax Warmer that has even one of the features that make Mella better. Three major differences:
1. Mella Skin - my patented silicone skin covers the entire outside of the warmer (like a cell phone skin). Wax doesn't stick to silicone so it is easy to keep clean every day. Six color choices so your warmer compliments the salon decor and atmosphere.
2. Mella App - wax takes 20-30 mins to heat up, meaning employees must arrive early to be ready for the first client or salons sometimes leave it on overnight (obviously a hazard). Mella App allows the user to schedule their Mella to turn ON and OFF according to the salon hours. On the fly flexibility as well, tap Mella On and Off right from your phone anytime.
3. Mella Sophistication - I challenge you to find a wax warmer that looks like a piece of art not a crock pot or metal box. Salons put a big effort in creating an atmosphere and experience for their clients. Wax warmers must be out in view because they are hot. Even brand new they are not good looking, then wax dripping inevitably get on them making the ugly warmer look even worse because now it also looks dirty.
I have sold my home a year ago to get this off the ground. I'm proud to say that my first run of production is in assembly stage. Branding, Web Design and Packaging has been done professionally. Infrastructure as to shipping and receiving, manufacturing and sourcing is in place. I'm launching soon and would love to continue further development of complimentary products to stay ahead of the curve. Large Capacity Warmer that doubles as a Sugar warmer / Ability to Brand the skin and upload any color / A Stand to hold multiple (URL removed). I've set up my business to have recurring income to pay for developments like this and support ongoing costs like customer support. I've done this by having my App be $0.99 per month. I conservatively plan to capture 10% of the market share with Mella which translates to roughly 60,000 users. Because there isn't anything like this on the market and it is a piece of equipment in every single hair salon, wax salon, medi spa, barber etc., I think 30% is feasible.
