Description: My name is Angie Meister, President of United Performing Arts Guild (UPAG). We are inviting you and others in the DFW area to partner with us to build a 600 seat Performance Hall and Fine Arts Training Center/Academy. UPAG is “Providing a Platform for ALL Performers” by immersing students of all ages, skills, and economic backgrounds into the fine arts. Together we change the lives of disadvantaged students and give them the opportunity to shine in the arts. Our campaign is to move into the downtown Arlington area where we will be a part of Arlington’s Cultural Arts District. We can provide opportunities for celebrity choreographers to host free or reduced master classes for our youth. This provides a community service to special needs adults and children, and training to young artists to feed into local colleges with a Performing Arts program. By developing a pre-professional program for young adults to train during the day and providing them with an on-line education, performances throughout the year would be available to the community. At United Performing Arts Guild (UPAG), we are a positive influence in our community. By providing a life changing experience in the fine arts, we can guide and mentor students through their formative school years and continue to lead them through the mazes of college. We have the ability to use fine arts to help parents hold their children accountable for good grades in order to obtain performance opportunities. A well-rounded fine arts program can help change each student to excel in their gifts. UPAG will bring in celebrities for master classes, motivational speakers, and give our talented youth an alternate education program by providing an on-line education. This would allow students to train and pursue their career. Building a Performing Arts facility would allow us to offer training to lower income kids, adults and children with special needs, and gifted performers; all on one stage, in a special training facility, and be able to perform for the community. Our highly qualified staff has the heart and desire to accomplish this goal. With your donation, we can and will reach children and young adults by “Providing a Platform for ALL Performers”. Many students never have the opportunity to participate in the fine arts due to the lack of funds within their family budgets. This is where our partnership is important. Without your help we cannot continue to make a difference and provide it for them. Our work provides joy and confidence gained by expressing their talent through the arts. This is a priceless life experience. Our passion for youth will make a difference in the lives of children which in turn will make a difference in our community. Artists from all backgrounds will be able to train, perform, and be well-educated, as they pursue their dreams. With your tax deductible gift, we can create the momentum behind the vision and grow support with other donations. The dream becomes reality by “Providing a Platform for ALL Performers”.
