Description: We are the "Innovation Cafe" that sets a higher standard of food vendor in temporary settings. Our cafe is based in Portland, Oregon and created barely 2 mos. ago. We were targeting temporary settings such as fairs, or any community events and cater to office businesses. Our first big event was 4th of July in Vancouver National Historic Site, this year (Vancouver, Washington). This event provided us a valuable experience in setting up a temporary setting and although new in this kind of event(both with Food service background) we had broken the perception and tradition by providing healthy food and drink alternative to usual "fast food". This event open a new avenue for us to market our cafe as well as test the market with our new products. Our business is based in Portland, Oregon but both my partner and I resides in Vancouver, Washington and wanted to pursue in setting up events such as Saturday Market and already have the foot traffic. We would like to set up a full commissary kitchen in Vancouver, for caterers (small business) that are in need of approved kitchen which is needed in the area by leasing space for per hour and extra for storage, our initial goal is to be able to continue in doing at least 10 events per year with temporary settings and would like to package our combined knowledge of learning to educate entrepreneurs like ourselves. Both my partner and I had put up everything we have to start this business and we are in a second phase to find several events to guarantee for the next year. We would like to be able to hire a reputable grant writer that would be able to help us with our concise business plan for SBA loan and grants available to women minority in business. Along with this we also recognize that where we resides in Vancouver, Washington (although business is based in Portland, Oregon), is in need of minority business resource center. We both had encountered several minorities that had been taken advantage and would like to provide help to minorities entreprenuers like ourselves to educate and provide resource in order to be able to succeed in their business venture(s). Food industry is our passion and helping others is our life's motivation.
