This is a mainstream commercial rock music project with interest from a few major labels. The band needs to record an album to sell and also use to shop for a favorable record deal.
We have an award-winning producer willing to record the album at a cut rate because he believes in our music. He is essentially waiving his own fee. The investment will cover all costs associated with making the record from start to finished product, including all studio costs, album artwork and concept design, and pressing/packaging. We also have an opportunity to film a professional music video with a Juno Award-winning video producer at a highly discounted rate also due to his belief in our project. He has several high-profile video credits to his name and we plan to work the cost of this into the investment. The video is an important promotional tool to help launch the album with a first single and gain radio airplay in turn boosting record sales.
We would like this to be a loan with a detailed agreement on repayment. We are willing to pay interest and/or a percentage of the profits from the record sales above repayment of the loan. We want you to feel there is something in it for you. And we want you to be involved in our project since you are essentially helping us get off the ground.
