Description: In 2007 consumers bought $128MM in online products, but spent $766MM on products they researched online but eventually bought in stores (source Jupiter Research). ELM believes that the gap between online purchase and online research exists because consumers are not comfortable with the advice they receive online. As such, we are building an Internet solution to increase consumer confidence because consumers who are more confident in the online advice they receive will buy more online, both in the product they are researching and ancillary products. ELM’s software, which captures the mental logic used by experts to recommend products and services, and renders it on the web using artificially intelligent avatars (animated characters) improves the current online advice experience (as described below), and acts as a gateway to portals like Amazon and EBay, capturing the affiliate percentage for CPA actions.
