Description:
LiveMeters Summary:
1) We have developed and provisionally patented a product which remotely disconnects, reconnects and reads electricity, water & gas meters
2) In case of water & gas which are our primary focus for now, the solution is self-sustained using energy harvesting features and power budgets which allow self powering mechanism (instead of relying on availability of an electric connection)
a. Water: It uses the flow of water through the pipe to generate its own trickle charge which is then utilized to charge a battery.
b. Gas: It uses the gas and converts it into energy required for self powering using a provisionally patented Fuel Cell technology
c. It uses very low power and has a power budget which will allow sustenance for up to 10 years.
3) It also overcome inherent time ‘drifting’ issues with Mesh Networks.
4) The product is called LiveMeters and have named the company LiveMeters, Inc.
5) We are also contemplating providing it as a service under a different initiative called LiveMetering, Inc.
6) We have filed three provisional patents and one PCT for this solution and have completed a patent search which has come back negative in terms of any system out there which does what we have designed.
7) This product is currently in prototype mode, we aim to be in production by March 2010
8) We already have a large customer base, two of them have signed up for being the initial test customers, and one has shown an intent to buy after the technology is proven and tested.
9) We are seeking funding to take this to market quickly.
10) Currently this project has been funded by Atrinova, which specializes in SAP Utility Consulting services. Atrinova’s clientele include AES (VA), Fairfax Water (VA), Imperial Irrigation District (CA), Gwinnett County (GA), NYPA (NY), Anglian Water (UK), Country of Aruba, Centrica (UK), MARAFIQ (Saudi Arabia), Saudi Electricity, etc.
11) Lastly, we were among the finalist at the Forbes Most Promising start-up for 2009. We are awaiting final results listing.
