Executive Summary:
(URL removed) is an Online Social Network Project created by the Open Source Educational Network.
Our mission is to provide free educational lessons, tools, videos, articles, games and labs for K-12 and beyond. The focus will be literacy, learning to learn, and STEM: Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. The content provided will follow National Education Standards for each subject.
Although our company is currently focused on content geared toward North America, we expect to reach a global market in a short time frame; and have accounted for that eventual expansion.
The main objective is to bring students, educators, researchers & institutions together for the benefit of all, while making a profit.
Our goals:
Provide free online educational resources to students & educators.
Encourage further education to students of all ages.
Provide interactive learning labs, games and hands on projects.
Create and implement after school & online programs across the nation.
Create relevant & modern educational marketing to encourage learning.
Providing open source educational content, with our business model, allows our company the ability to offer services to online social networks who already have a client base totaling in the 100,000,000's, think: (URL removed), (URL removed), (URL removed), etc.
Offering our services in this way allows us to take advantage of the large user pool, that is currently established with these social networks. As well as, the ability to benefit from the larger companies using these sites for advertising, marketing, branding and analytical data compiling, and sales of that information to government education statistics centers.
Now, think: Microsoft, Apple, Google, AT&T, NASA, Kodak, Time Warner, and international aspects like (URL removed), Etc.
Existing social networks, like FaceBook and MySpace, sell their sites' users as a platform to draw in advertising revenue from these larger companies. (URL removed) follows the same methodology with the advantage of utilizing the existing user pool of these sites by offering our services to them.
There is currently a big push in America to offer STEM related educational content. The reason for this push, is the "Innovate to Educate" project that was recently launched by the U.S. Department of Education. The goal of this project is to find new and engaging ways to educate students on STEM subjects. This creates the perfect environment for our company to step in and capitalize on this new market.
Our need begins here.
As a smaller company that does not have friends in the government, or in high-end financial institutions, we were simply overshadowed when funding was initially handed out. The second round is coming up, and only companies who have at least 10% of the capital sought, will be eligible for this free aid. We plan on seeking more than $10,000,000 in US Government aid in the upcoming round.
We are seeking investor(s) to partner with us in the (URL removed) Project.
We have procured the names, rights, web domains, web hosting, corporate name, federal tax ID, and Government fund request ID needed for this project.
Projections and statistics, show a positive incremental increase in profit every year. The normal sales and services are expected to reach at least $20,000,000 in the first 5 years.
Our hope is that we can leverage a marketing deal with a large entity for this project, like FaceBook did in its' second quarter when it made a deal with Microsoft for over $200,000,000.
We are offering up to 33% of the Company's future profit. The % of return in exchange for investment is negotiable . This would include voting rights, board seats and preferred stock options, when we become Incorporated and reach the point of having said stock.
We would also offer rights to invest in all other related entities that are likely to come from this project. Such businesses might include, media, marketing, software production or manufacturing and any other ventures that may further our goals.
We are open to creating a formal Limited Liability Company, or other like entity, based in the USA, under the name of the "Open Source Educational Network". The name and rights to OSEN, have been secured for this purpose.
Although we can not entertain an offer asking for a controlling interest, we would be open to offers for an equal partnership.
Thank you for the opportunity to address your forum of investors.
Our management team is posed to launch this project into completion in under 1 year. We have a 5 year plan, marketing projections, and statistics ready for a serious investor.
Please contact us if you would like more information or would like an investors' packet.
Sincerely,
Kevin Flint, OSEN President.
