I have developed (URL removed) under the need for something geared towards the commercial transportation industry. With 1.8 million drivers on the US Highway system today, we all know that the biggest trouble is the trucks getting "lost".
I drove professionally for 14 years and had the opportunity in 2005 to work in an office for a local company. I have seen the edge as a driver, dispatcher, broker, safety manager and the communications manager for that company. Unfortunately, the company did close their doors on May 31, 2008 due to some banking efforts by a local branch and personal standings with the former owners of the company.
I saw problems with directions for trucking back in 1992 when everything out there was just based for 'cars'. Amazingly, it's still the exact same as it was then. Sure there are websites such as Mapquest and Live search, however, for directions they just don't help the trucking industry since there's no road postings and legal limits shown.
I have done alot of homework and even on the advertising seen on some of the websites I visited while working on the office, I have the possibility of making Class8Directions a very profitable business. Since more service related companies like towing and truck repair for example can know that the visitors on the website would be the people such as drivers, dispatchers, brokers and so forth the revenue they could see would be increased.
By offering the advertising on the website at half the price as the largest competitor (who does not offer directions), I can use their example of advertisers at 30,000 and multiply that by the $99.00 per month charge to be listed on the website with more traffic than anyone.
Along with the traffic from people looking for the directions, I have plans on building a job applicants form that can automatically submit individuals employment inquiries to a filtered base of companies. This would help possibly create more jobs and better the nations market.
Up until now it's been quite a bit of work as well as fun creating and talking about Class8Directions, but seeing that I'm just an individual with a dream that I wouldn't want to be shattered, I've decided maybe it's time to look towards investors that would want to help make it become a reality. I just simply want to get some billboard advertisements up around the major trucking lanes and have some more contact with companies and individuals that could benefit from having (URL removed) on their side.
